Solid Edge Installation Guide

Instructions on downloading and installing Solid Edge products.

 As you follow the instructions be aware that depending on the version of Solid Edge being installed you may experience a different user interface. If you experience this, please contact our support team and we will update the instructions. [email protected]

Solid Edge can only have one version on a workstation at a time. Please uninstall the previous version if this is an update.

  1. Make sure before you begin this process you have at least 30GB of unallocated/free space on your workstation.
  2. Click the link below and download the Solid_Edge_XXXX_XXXX.exe file.

  1. Once this is installed open the .exe file from either your web browser or from the downloads folder.
  2. Click Yes on the security pop-up.
  3. This will extract Solid Edge 2023
  4. On the Solid Edge pop-up, read the license agreement, then check the acceptance box.
  5. Click Install

NOTE: Be patient because this installation can take between 5-45 minutes.

8. Click Finish when the install in completed.

Update your license file by going to License Utility.

If your license file has only node locked Solid Edge licenses, please click the following link instead: https://www.camlogic.com/licensing/ and follow the instructions on the right of the page

  1. I have a License Server name:

Select this option if you have a dedicated Server that is hosting your license server.

  1. This will display what Solid Edge is pointing to, whether it is connecting to the License Server Machine or pointing to a specific file.

NOTE: Changing the port: This has to be done through the environment variables.

  • Click the windows button and type “Environment Variables” and select “Edit the system Environment Variables.”
  • Click Environment Variables…

  • Under System Variables select SE_LICENSE_SERVER or SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER and click Edit…
  • Edit Variable values: with the specific port.
