Human modeling/posture prediction – nx mach series add on modules

Extend your product development capabilities with NX Mach Series add-on modules, starting with Human Modeling and Posture Predicting add-ons

Human Modeling

Human Modeling is a great add-on that utilizes large databases created by qualified companies and universities. These databases can adjust the human models shape, gender, age, weight, and many other attributes. Each data set shows different results depending on the aforementioned customizable options inside the Human Modeling Dialog Box. Siemens NX also has multiple “Comfort Data Sources” allowing you to pull different default comfort analysis reports depending on the results being looked for by the user. This can save time and cost because NX Human Modeling is able to do hundreds of tests virtually instantly instead of doing all these tests individually physically. Also, since Human Modeling is embedded in the NX software you can save even more time running these virtual tests.

Reach Zones

One great feature of the NX Human Modeling is the “Reach Zones” which allow the designers to create custom defined or predefined locations of different aspects of the human body like the fingers, shoulders, etc. NX Human Modeling also has the ability to create constraints that would simulate real life situations like seat belts, different aspects of the car, and human body physics.

Comfort Assessment

Another great feature inside the NX Human Modeling is “Comfort Assessment” which evaluates the human model comfort based on five industry standard comfort databases. This allows dynamic updating of the human model to bring out of comfort joints to comfort zone. Because of the multiple databases, NX is able to predict whether a given human model is in a comfortably seated posture and can inform the designer if the joint constraints have been reached depending on the customizations.

Comfort Analysis

NX Human Modeling is able to report comfort analysis statistics for different aspects of the human model your designers are testing. One example is “Degrees away from Ideal” which shows the designer what parts of the body have been altered and whether the human is being altered from impact or from human forced pressure. The customization of the constraints you provide will also be able to impact the results of the reports you generate.

Posture Prediction

This Add-on allows you to use the posture prediction tool which holds information from 2 databases of information collected by the Automotive Seat Packaging Evaluation and Comparison Tool program. These databases will make sure that when a human model is put into a vehicle the model will be postured in the appropriate position according to the layout of the vehicle and the figures anthropometry.

Posture Prediction also lets the designer see what will happen to multiple human models using predictions of database data. This data can show what will happen to the human model if you adjust the height, weight, eye location, and many other attributes.
