introducing teamcenter share – New features and functions

Teamcenter Share or formerly known as Xcelerator Share, is a great cloud-based product that anyone with a SaaS license has access to. Why did Siemens move away from the name Xcelerator Share? Because they wanted to promote the collaboration aspects of Teamcenter Share, which builds off the name of Siemens PLM solution, Teamcenter.

Opening Large Assemblies

One of the biggest updates besides the name change is Teamcenter Shares ability to open large assemblies. Siemens has emphasized the importance of opening large assemblies quickly, so with the new update, Siemens has tested opening 500GB assemblies. The results show that compared to the previous version of Teamcenter Share, opening large assemblies only takes 35% of the time. This means collaborating with external or internal users is now viable.

Bug Fixes

Developers at Siemens are continually taking feedback from customers to implement new functions as well as bug fixes into Teamcenter Share. Some of the features Siemens has recently added have been because of user requests, such as moving/copying files to new locations, being able to customize the columns of the part properties and the addition of a displayed icon that represents the top assembly. Siemens listens to their customer base and makes necessary improvements based on these insights to help keep your projects and tasks organized, ultimately reducing the wasted time and efforts of you and your company.

Future Plans for Teamcenter Share

Since the rename, Siemens has wanted to highlight the collaboration features that Teamcenter Share can provide to any user of the application. So the development team is planning to implement even more collaboration that promotes interaction inside of Teamcenter Share. Since this product is fully cloud based no installation is required, making it very simple to implement into your company’s daily use.
